Commit To Love

Over the last 10 years or so, online dating sites have become the norm for many individuals to meet, date and eventually, if they’re compatible, get married. For entrepreneur Anita Ram-Sharma, the goal was to create a site and experience that was engaging and unique. As a result, South Asian Millionaire’s Club Inc. was born, and this savvy “marriage-minded” website caters to individuals who are ready for commitment and marriage in North America. This is all done while focusing on implementing a modern trend in marriage while maintaining the cultural roots they truly hold.

“I’m a third generation matchmaker when it comes to arranging marriages, my father and grandfather did it before me,” says Anita. “Marriage is such a sacred institution, and I often tell people that you have to love and respect yourself in order for others to reciprocate.”

Anita’s company, the South Asian Millionaire’s Club strives to connect individuals who are compatible and offers three levels of membership: Rose, Gold and Diamond. The first steps involve completing the enrollment form; uploading your image; and answering a set of questions to determine common interests and goals. All information provided is confidential.

When asked what sets your company apart from similar dating or marriage sites, Anita responds with “criminal checks.” Each member of the Millionaire’s Club is required to provide a criminal check before any initial information or matches are shared. In addition, there are ‘predator’ alerts, which protect clients against serious criminals or sex offenders. An additional safety feature is in place for individuals using fraudulent images, whose membership will be cancelled without refund. The website will also not allow any married men or women to use their services.

Anita wants the new generation to not be skeptical or critical of marriage, but wants to emphasize that although marriage is a serious commitment, it can be achieved with love, trust and loyalty. In addition, this modern-day matchmaker wants to give back to the community, and one of her main goals for the company is to raise money for organizations from BC Children’s Hospital to diverse women’s shelters. Her ultimate dream is to build a women’s shelter and orphanage to assist women and children of all ages.

This matchmaking extraordinaire draws on life lessons and not only serves as an inspiration to her children, but to female entrepreneurs around the world. “Follow your heart and instincts, and don’t let anyone or anything stop you from reaching your goals.”
