Century Group recently unveiled plans for ‘3 Civic Plaza,’ the first mixed-use hotel and residential project in Surrey City Centre. The tower is slated to be 517 feet with 50 storeys making 3 Civic Plaza the tallest tower south of the Fraser River and the fifth tallest tower in the Lower Mainland.

“We are thrilled to be launching 3 Civic Plaza as we recognize the importance of furthering the development of Surrey’s emerging City Centre,” says Sean Hodgins, President of Century Group. “Investing in the new Surrey City Centre is essential to create the conditions for success – the kind of place we can all be proud to call home.”

Century Group, along with Surrey City Development Corporation (SCDC), are partnering to build 3 Civic Plaza, which will feature a boutique hotel called Civic Hotel with 160 guest rooms plus a ground-level restaurant and meeting spaces that can accommodate over 300 people. In addition, the development will have 330 residential units, located above the hotel, boasting spectacular views of Surrey City Centre and beyond.

“3 Civic Plaza is a great example of how change, innovation and collaborative partnerships will help bring our vision for Surrey City Centre to life,” says Dianne Watts, Mayor of Surrey. “Projects like these will help us create vibrant, livable, sustainable communities and prepare Surrey for growth in the coming years.”

Located at the crossroads of City Parkway and 104th Avenue, 3 Civic Plaza will be directly connected to Surrey Central SkyTrain station and in close proximity to Simon Fraser University’s Surrey campus, the RCMP E-Division and the Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre.

This development has also been designed by Cotter Architects to complement the neighbouring City Centre Library and new Surrey City Hall – all three will activate a Civic Plaza as an outdoor living space for Surrey.

“Century Group shares our commitment to sustainable projects that promote economic vitality,” says Jim Cox, President and CEO of Surrey City Development Corporation. “This is the type of project that demonstrates the positive impact that SCDC’s business partnerships can make in our community.”

Residential sales for 3 Civic Plaza will begin in October 2012 with project completion slated for Fall 2015. For more information, visit www.3CivicPlaza.ca.
