Besides being actively involved with the FVREB’s committees, Baljit is a coordinator for ‘Realtors Care Blanket Drive;’ a Canadian Red Cross volunteer serving as a phone line interpreter for refugee claimants; a Surrey Memorial Hospital volunteer in the renal department helping patients during kidney dialysis; a Surrey RCMP/Crime Prevention volunteer and serves as Block Watch captain for his neighbourhood; a Sources Community Resource Centres volunteer, he spends quality time with seniors in Whiterock; and participates as a volunteer with the Canadian Blood Services.

“I love people and interacting with them, I am a people-oriented person,” says Baljit, adding “Volunteer work fulfills my own wish and desire to give back to the community and assist those in need.”

Before immigrating to Canada from India in 1997, Baljit was a practising Lawyer specializing in criminal and civil law. Upon arriving in Canada, he also completed a Diploma in Internet Publishing before pursuing a career in Real Estate. He is married and a father of two.
