Lamhaa is about that moment between life and death and is placed in Kashmir because you never know when that moment may arrive there. Shot in the valley at a time when trouble was still brewing and the future was uncertain. Lamhaa is a story about an army man from Kashmir and his love interest. Sanjay Dutt and Bipasha Basu are in leading roles while Anupam Kher and Kunal Kapoor are supporting actors. An unknown company who is generating millions of unaccountable dollars benefiting politicians and bureaucrats in the Indian and Pakistani intelligence is likely to disrupt and possibly paralyze Kashmir. Thus, Vikram (Sanjay Dutt), an undercover intelligence officer is sent to investigate this highly confidential mission using the identity of Gul Jehangir. The same day that he lands in the valley, Haji (Anupam Kher) a top separatist leader, survives a blast. Only leaving Vikam to wonder whether there is connection between the blast and the operation? To solve this conundrum, Vikram teams up with Aziza (Bipasha Basu), Haji’s young, aggressive and outspoken. They embark together on a journey full of intrigue, suspicion, betrayal and danger, to uncover the truth. Vikram and Aziza expose the dirty secrets of a state’s fight for freedom, the corrupt nexus of politicians, intelligence, militancy and passionate people. Written and directed by national-award winning director Rahul Dholakia, the movie will be released in July 2010.
