DARPAN Magazine is proud to announce that nominations are now open for the highly anticipated DARPAN Extraordinary Achievement Awards, taking place on September 19, 2025, at the prestigious Aria Banquet & Convention Centre in Surrey, BC. Now in its landmark 15th edition, the Awards continue to honour excellence, leadership, and innovation within the South Asian community, both in Canada and globally.
This year, we invite the community to take part in the celebration by nominating outstanding individuals across 10 diverse and impactful categories. From youth change-makers to international icons, the Awards provide a platform to spotlight inspiring stories that deserve to be recognized and shared.
The 10 Categories Open for Nominations Are:
- International Sensation – Honouring a global figure of South Asian heritage who has made waves internationally in arts, culture, business, or public service.
- Community Crusader – Celebrating individuals or organizations that have made significant contributions to bettering South Asian communities through service, leadership, or advocacy.
- Young Wonder – Recognizing South Asian youth (under 25) who are creating meaningful change, showing leadership, or achieving remarkable success at a young age.
- Industry Marvel – Honouring South Asian innovators and entrepreneurs who are redefining their industries and driving economic growth.
- Corporate Engagement – Acknowledging South Asian professionals leading initiatives in diversity, inclusion, and social responsibility within the corporate world.
- Advancing Philanthropy – Highlighting those who have dedicated their efforts to charitable work and humanitarian causes, impacting lives locally and globally.
- Heritage Defender – Honouring individuals working to preserve and promote South Asian culture, traditions, languages, and history.
- Artistic Visionary – Celebrating creativity across mediums—film, music, literature, fashion, or visual arts—that uplifts and represents the South Asian experience.
- Spirit of Sport – Recognizing South Asian athletic excellence and those using sport to inspire, empower, and unite.
- Breaking Barriers – Honouring South Asian trailblazers who have defied odds and challenged norms in pursuit of equity, representation, and justice.
Nominations officially open on May 26, 2025, and will remain open until August 15, 2025.
Individuals, organizations, or community members are encouraged to nominate deserving candidates who exemplify excellence in any of the categories above.
