Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has condemned the terror attack in Nice, France, saying that people these days have “paucity of thought” and don't even try to sit down and talk about various issues.

A terrorist sped a rented truck through a crowd of thousands enjoying Bastille Day celebrations on Thursday night in Promenade des Anglais in Nice, crushing 84 people and injuring some 150.

“Many afternoons evenings and nights did one spend on the walks by the inked sea at this Promenade... Today one gets up with a heavy heart to hear and see its destruction and the trauma it undergoes,” Amitabh wrote on his blog.

“No words can even begin their journey to describe such devastation and remorse... Can we not just sit and talk it out and stop... one can only sit back and pray that there be happiness and laughter about, instead of the horrific events that unfold each hour almost.

“There is a paucity of thought today... there is a paucity of expressive description and a paucity of understanding... The how and why come forward with some hope, but fall back destroyed by the inability to find suitable response,” he added.

The “Piku” star further shared that “unexpected endings are a curse”.

“Is this what they that suffered ever imagine? I would think not... Endings are a completion of life... Can not the Giver of Life decide that for us in a more civil manner,” he said.
