Summer is here! And the good news is, with the easing of the Covid-19 restrictions, the 2021 Summer is certainly looking brighter than the last year. The sunshine is calling you, and you must go!

However, after spending most of our days the previous year in loungewear and PJs, it is natural for us to wonder what to pick up now before we set out to soak up the sun. Well, worry not, we have got you covered with our list of wardrobe essentials for the summer that will let you off the 'what do I wear?' hook, and help you make stunning style statements.

Whether you are headed to the beach, partying outdoors, catching up with your gang or going for a brunch, we have gathered a list of a few trending summer staples that will keep you looking seamlessly chic and cool. Check it out…

Classic Cover-ups

You will not understand the obsession over cover-ups until you try one. A perfect swimwear accompaniment, a good kaftan/sarong/ swimsuit cover-up is a must-have in your closet, especially during summers, when we are driven by an insane desire to dive in the pool or head to the beach. A nice cover-up not only does what it supposed to but also adds a bit of oomph to your swimwear. A tunic or a shirtdress, or a sarong will keep you comfortable moving around after a swim.

The Long & Short Of It

When something is pocket friendly, comfortable and available in a choice of styles, it has to top our list. The midi-shorts aka the mid-length shorts are hot on the fashion circuit and a definite must-have in your summer wardrobe. Not too long, neither too short — the midi shorts are edgy, comfortable and extremely versatile, which can be worn in various styles, from morning till evening. You can even give your casual mid-length trouser shorts a high-fashion twist by pairing them with a matching blazer. Ideal for a day at the beach, as well as a fun trip with friends — mid-length shorts are too cool to be missed this season. The floral print and white laced midi shorts are delightful summer essentials.

Mini Madness

Mini dresses and ultra-miniskirts are a sure shot way to keep cool and chic even on the hottest days. And the good news is they are making a major comeback this season. They made an appearance all over the Spring/Summer 2021 runways with their fresh and versatile appeal. Available in a variety of styles and fabrics, minis are the star this summer season.

Wide-leg Fancy

Wide-leg trousers have made a cool comeback this season. The over-sized bottoms may not seem that flattering at first glance, but believe us they scream comfort and style when styled the right way. Be it your 80s inspired office trousers, cropped culottes, wide-leg denim — they are all part of the dress code this season. You can pair them with bralettes, crop tops, t-shirts, blazers, and even sneakers to make some interesting fashion statements.

Embrace The Crops

It is not summer without crop tops and bralettes. Yes, crop tops and bralettes are still a hit this summer and just can’t be skipped from your must-have list. From plain to colourful, simple to complex, there is plenty of variety to choose from, and you can add your own spin to them, as they can be styled in several different ways. Crops pair well with high-waisted shorts, denim, skirts or trousers, and you can always throw a jacket over for an edgy look or pair it with a blazer to make a uber-cool statement. If you are creative enough, you can simply pull out some old crop from the wardrobe and style it in new way, or simply revamp your old tees/shirt into crops using easy DIY tutorials available online.
