On Sunday, May 8th just after 12:40 a.m., Coquitlam RCMP received a report of a stabbing in the 3000 block of Glen Drive, Coquitlam.

When officers arrived at the scene, they located one adult male victim suffering from a stab wound. Despite all efforts to revive the victim, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

While the investigation is still in the early stages, investigators confirm one person is in custody at this point. Although one person has been arrested, police continue to treat this investigation as active and ongoing to determine the circumstances, states Corporal Paige Kuz, Coquitlam RCMP Media Relations Officer.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called in and they are now conducting the investigation in partnership with the Coquitlam RCMP.

Police are in the evidence gathering phase, and seeking to speak with anyone who may have been in the area at the time or has any information regarding this investigation call the IHIT Information Line at 1‐877‐551‐IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp‐grc.gc.ca.
