VANCOUVER — Worksafe BC and the BC Coroner's Service are investigating a fatal workplace accident on Wednesday afternoon in West Vancouver.
Police say a worker was thrown from an excavator when it accidentally overturned while working at the top of a steep slope.
It happened at a construction site (on Chippendale Road) shortly after 1:30 p.m.
Police say the 34-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
His name has not been released.

VICTORIA — British Columbia's police-complaint commissioner has determined that a public hearing is needed into allegations of professional misconduct by a Transit Police officer.
33-year-old was charged Tuesday following a traffic stop and brief pursuit in the Fraser Valley city.
Construction of the Evergreen extension, its stations and public plazas created an estimated 8,000 direct and indirect jobs during construction. The project is now complete and trains are ready to start taking passengers at noon today.
