Aditya Chopra Offers Clear Window For Karan Johar's 'Brothers'

Darpan News Desk IANS, 07 Feb, 2015 02:12 PM
  • Aditya Chopra Offers Clear Window For Karan Johar's 'Brothers'
It's perhaps brotherly love! Aditya Chopra's "Fan" will not release Aug 14 anymore, thereby leaving a void for another movie. The filmmaker himself reached out to his friend Karan Johar, suggesting he release his "Brothers" instead.

An important weekend slot prior to Independence Day, Aug 14 was booked for the release of Maneesh Sharma's directorial “Fan”, which stars Shah Rukh Khan. But there seems to be a slight change in plans.

Chopra personally called Johar to inform the delay of the film and urged him to replace the slot with his Akshay Kumar-starrer "Brothers".

Johar was so touched by the gesture that he took to micro-blogging site Twitter to share his gratitude towards Chopra.

“Adi just called and asked me to release BROTHERS on the 14th of August,2015 as FAN is postponed...gestures likes this make my day special,” Johar, who is co-producing the film, tweeted.

Meanwhile, there is no information over why “Fan" has been delayed and its future course of action. In the film, Bollywood 'badshah' Shah Rukh will be seen playing a fan.

If KJo takes up the Aug 14 slot, it will mark a second change in the release date of “Brothers”. Initially, the film was set to release on Gandhi Jayanti this year, but was preponed to July 31.

"Brothers" directed by Karan Malhotra, also features Sidharth Malhotra, Jacqueline Fernandez and Jackie Shroff. It is an official remake of the 2011 Hollywood film "Warrior".
