Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Becomes Ranbir's Second Biggest Hit

Darpan News Desk IANS, 25 Nov, 2016 10:50 AM
Filmmaker Karan Johar's "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" has turned out to be the second biggest hit of actor Ranbir Kapoor's career so far, claim the makers.

"Ae Dil Hai Mushkil", which was surrounded by controversies due to the presence of Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, released on October 28. It also features Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma.

Co-produced by Dharma Productions and Fox Star Studios, the film also features a cameo by superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

According to a statement issued by the film's makers, the movie raked Rs 112.14 crore (net India business), and amassed $12.4 million (gross) overseas till Thursday.

Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios, said: "'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' has had an amazing run at the box office and we are thrilled to know that this has become the second biggest hit of Ranbir Kapoor."

Singh is happy with the way the film was received by movie buffs.

"Karan Johar's directorial has become a huge hit because of the love the audiences have showered on the content of the movie and we are glad to be partners with him in making cinema that stands out," he said.

This might come as a respite for Ranbir, who had setbacks with "Bombay Velvet", "Roy" and "Besharam". In fact, "Tamasha" also failed to elicit a good response.

Ranbir will next be seen in "Jagga Jasoos".
