Mumbai, Sep 8 (IANS) Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's mother Aruna Bhatia passed away on Wednesday morning.

Akshay took to Twitter to express his grief and sadness over his mother's demise.

The 53-year-old star said that his mother passed away peacefully.

On Tuesday, Akshay had shared a health update about his mother and said that it was a "tough hour" for his family.

Many Bollywood celebrities took to Twitter to share their sadness over his mother's death such as Salman Khan, Neena Gupta, Nimrat Kaur, and Ajay Devgan

Many may not know that Akshay Kumar's mom passed away a day before his birthday. Akshay has a sister named Alka Bhatia. 

Meanwhile for his upcoming films Akshay will be seen in Bachchan Pandey’, ‘Raksha Bandhan’, ‘Ram Setu’, ‘Atrangi Re’ and others.
