  • Anil Kapoor Is My Real-Life Fanney Khan: SRK In Emotional Video

In a new video shared by actor Anil Kapoor ahead of the release of his latest film, Fanney Khan, he can be seen talking to Shah Rukh Khan, who says that Anil was a big inspiration to him during his early years in Bollywood.

The one-minute video shows the two actors having a conversation at an event ahead of the film’s release. “He is truly one of the kindest actor’s you will ever meet. That very quality of his makes @iamsrk a #FanneyKhan in my eyes. Thank you for the person that you are and for always being so supportive,” Anil wrote in his tweet.

In the accompanying video, Shah Rukh, who is wearing a denim jacket, says, “I knew I will be a star because Anil sir spoke so lovingly to me.” Shah Rukh was recalling an early interaction with the actor at a Mumbai film studio. “He was so kind to me, and sat with me for one or two hours and kept telling me to keep pursuing my dream of acting in films,” SRK said.

“In times like this, when you’re trying out and when you’re new,” Shah Rukh continued, “every little source of encouragement and ‘apnaapan’ (is important)”.

Anil stars opposite Rajkummar Rao and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Fanney Khan, due out in theatres on Friday. “I have never expressed this,” Shah Rukh said, “but I love him because he’s my Fanney Khan.”

Fanney Khan is an expression used in reference to a brave person or a hero. The film tells the story of a cab driver who wants his daughter to become a popstar. “This film gives message that you should believe in yourself.

Believe in all that you have within yourself because the magic is within you. Believe in a blessed life as life is beautiful, and therefore, experience it and smile with all that you have to give it to life,” Aishwarya said at a recent press event.
