Big B wishes success to 'Azhar'

Darpan News Desk IANS, 11 May, 2016 12:25 PM
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who has won a National Award for his performance in "Piku", has wished the forthcoming "Azhar" biopic success.

The 73-year-old took to Twitter to wish the film.

"Sony Pictures that partnered us on 'Piku' now bring out another 'Azhar'...My wishes for its success as ever...A biopic," Big B tweeted.

The film stars actor Emraan Hashmi, who will be seen playing the role of former Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin.

"Azhar" will narrate the highs and lows of Azharuddin's life as the captain of the Indian cricket team for most of the 1990s and being tainted by a match-fixing scandal in 2000, and getting banned for life.

Directed by Tony D'Souza, "Azhar", which is jointly produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and MSM Motion Picture, also stars Prachi Desai, Nargis Fakhri and Lara Dutta in pivotal roles and is slated for a worldwide release on Friday.
