‘Brahmastra’ Logo: Amitabh Bachchan Introduces The Powerful Ancient Weapon

IANS, 06 Mar, 2019 10:32 PM

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt will be sharing the screen space for the first-time-ever in Ayan Mukerji fantasy drama, ‘Brahmastra’.

Ranbir will reportedly play a man with special powers. He is named Shiva while Alia’s name is Isha.

The official logo was released by the makers on social media. ‘Brahmastra’, according to legend, is Hindu God Brahma’s weapon that can destroy the universe. The title refers to “ancient wisdom, energies and power”.

The 40-second video starts with a voiceover of Ranbir questioning Amitabh Bachchan about the ‘astra’, then it further moves to Amitabh explaining him about the ‘Brahmastra’.

Bachchan's powerful voice gives us chills all the way, especially towards the end when he says: "Kyuki tum Brahmastra ki aakhri ladai se jude ho – Shiva”.

Alia shared the logo and tweeted: “Saare astron ka devta - #Brahmastra. Dekhiye iska official movie logo abhi! Filmmaker Ayan shared the original art of ‘Brahmastra’ logo and wrote: “It’s been a long long time since the Brahmāstra journey began... The movie was called Dragon in those days... I had no idea what VFX was but had dreamt up a movie full of it... I had long strange hair...”

“There have been so many milestone memories and discoveries for me through this ride, that sharing them with whoever is listening on Instagram is as much about connecting the dots for myself... Here is the first really simple concept art we made for the movie... but about something that is at the very heart of it... Fire”.

The previous day, director Ayan shared a picture on Instagram.

He wrote: “Brahmastra Everywhere! (check link in bio) Also... Day 2 on Instagram : Losing the Plot! #thisissotough#shouldgetbacktoshoot #brahmastra #guesswho’sonscreen @aliaabhatt @karanjohar"

Karan Johar tweeted: "Not all weapons are made equal. ‘The shooting of the film has been done around the globe, in countries like Bulgaria, New York, and in Mumbai, among other places. Apart from Ranbir and Alia, the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Tollywood actor Nagarjuna.

‘Brahmastra’ is first part of a sci-fi trilogy which has been created by Ayan. The movie is scheduled to release around Christmas this year.
