Comedy Space For Indian Actresses Diminishing: Richa Chadha

  • Comedy Space For Indian Actresses Diminishing: Richa Chadha
Actress Richa Chadha believes that Indian cinema has had a unique space for "an adorable and funny female". But now, she finds that space diminishing.

What does the versatile actress have to say about comical roles for women in India?

Richa said in a statement: "We have a long history there. Our leading ladies, like Madhubala in 'Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi' or Rekha ji in 'Khubsoorat', or Sridevi in 'Chaalbaaz' and 'Mr. India'... we have had a unique space for an adorable and funny female in our films.

"I find that space diminishing. I feel fortunate that I have played a character as internal and traumatised as Devi in 'Masaan' and now Bholi in 'Fukrey'."
