Dhurandhar becomes a true global game changer

Darpan News Desk , 22 Dec, 2025 09:49 AM
  • Dhurandhar becomes a true global game changer

With yet another thunderous third weekend, Dhurandhar has scored ₹870.36 crore ($97 million USD) worldwide gross, making it the highest grossing film of the year and sealing its place among the most extraordinary blockbuster runs in Indian cinema history.

Surpassing itself week after week since its December 5 release, the global entertainer  has delivered unheard-of records and rewritten the rulebook at every stage, including the biggest Second Weekend and biggest Third Weekend ever.

Posting a massive ₹40.30 crore net in India on Sunday, Day 17, this is a run defined by scale, speed and consistency.

This historic performance has been achieved without a holiday or festival release, with an A-rating, and without a GCC rollout, making Dhurandhar’s dominance entirely organic and audience-powered.

From Day 1 to Day 13, the film sustained ₹24+ crore daily collections for 13 consecutive days, raced to ₹200 crore ($24M) in just 5 days, and became the fastest film ever to cross ₹300, ₹400 and ₹500 crore, with Week 2 outperforming Week 1, a box-office trajectory never witnessed before.

Overseas: A Historic Global Breakout

Dhurandhar’s dominance extended well beyond India. With an astounding ₹186.90 crore ($20.90 million) overseas gross in just 17 days, Dhurandhar has officially emerged as the highest-grossing Indian film overseas in 2025 (including all regional languages), and this without a Gulf release.

North America: $11.25 million (Top overseas grosser of 2025)

Australia: A$ 3.76 million

UK: £1.98 million

Break-up (India):

Week 1: ₹218.00 crore

Week 2: ₹261.50 crore

Day 15, Friday: ₹23.70 crore

Day 16, Saturday: ₹35.70 crore

Day 17, Sunday: ₹40.30 crore

TOTAL INDIA NETT: ₹579.20 crore

TOTAL INDIA GROSS: ₹683.46 crore

TOTAL OVERSEAS GROSS: ₹186.90 crore ($20.90M)

TOTAL WORLDWIDE GROSS: ₹870.36 crore ($97 million USD)

A defining moment for Indian cinema, Jio Studios & B62 Studios’ Aditya Dhar directorial stands tall as a once-in-a-lifetime blockbuster, driven purely by audience love and historic word of mouth. Dhurandhar hasn’t just broken records; it has redefined what’s possible at the global box office.
