Didn't Want My Kids To Look At Me And Say He Is A Loser, Says Bobby Deol

  • Didn't Want My Kids To Look At Me And Say He Is A Loser, Says Bobby Deol
Bobby Deol, who is making a comeback of sorts with Race 3, has been constantly talking about his struggle during his lean period. In a recently released promo of his conversation with film critic Anupama Chopra for Film Companion, he revealed how his family helped him.

Bobby said, “I wanted them to see their father at his best. I wanted them to not look at me and say he is a loser. I want to be their inspiration as my father is to me. That’s most important thing for me and my wife who believes so much in me.”

He says that he is indebted to Salman Khan for the revival of his career. He said, “Salman told me that when his career was not going in the desired direction, he sought the support of Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt, so I said to him ‘Mamu, let me use your support.’ One day, he called and said, ‘Shirt utarega?’”

In an earlier interview with DNA, he talked at length about his comeback. He had said, “I’m part of films where our characters stand out the most, not just the main star cast. The strategy is to stay fit and people will come to me.”

Bobby Deol was one of the biggest Hindi film stars in the ‘90s. His films like Barsaat, Gupt and Soldier minted money at the box office. However, his career took a dip and he rarely featured in films for years. His comeback films such as Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 and Poster Boys also failed to make much of a noise at the ticket windows.
