Diljit Dosanjh Opens Up About His Role In 'Soorma'

    Punjabi singer- actor Diljit Dosanjh is all geared up to portray the role of legendary hockey player Sandeep Singh in his upcoming flick 'Soorma'.
     
    Taking to his Twitter handle, Dosanjh on Friday shared a zealous training video of 'Soorma', saying this has been 'the toughest role' he has ever played till now.
     
    The video shows Diljit's hard work and Sandeep's training session while shooting the film.
     
    "One of my toughest roles till date! http://bit.ly/DiljitTrainsLikeASoorma .@flickersingh paaji, thank you for mentoring me all the way! #Soorma" Dosanjh tweeted.
     
     
     
    The 'Udta Punjab' star, who essays hockey player Sandeep Singh in the film, not only got trained by the former captain but also underwent a physical transformation to look like him.
     
    He also imbibed in the lifestyle of an athlete to play the role.
     
    The trailer of the film garnered immense appreciation from the audience. It is an inspiring true story of the human spirit, about Sandeep Singh, who made headlines for his miraculous comeback after an unfortunate accident.
     
    The film showcases his personal as well as professional aspects of life. It shows how Sandeep struggles to get on his own feet after being paralysed for two years.
     
    Singh is regarded as one of the world's most dangerous drag-flickers, masters in a peculiar scoring technique in hockey. He was even graced with the nickname 'Flicker Singh' for his drag speeds of over 145 km/hr.
     
    The film also features Taapsse Pannu and Angad Bedi.
     
    Helmed by Shaad Ali, the film is set to hit the theatres on July 13.
