Don't choose films for money: R. Madhavan

Darpan News Desk IANS, 07 May, 2015 02:17 PM
Actor R. Madhavan who will be seen in "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" next, believes in putting himself in the audience's shoes before accepting a role and not for the sake of money.

"That's the only mantra I have... whether or not I want to see the film in the theatre. I don't want to make a story that seems to be made just because it made a lot of money," Madhavan told the media here on Thursday.

He will be seen opposite National Award winning actress Kangana Ranaut in "Tanu Weds Manu Returns", which releases on May 22. The film is a sequel to the 2011 romantic comedy "Tanu Weds Manu".

Directed by Anand L. Rai, the film also features Deepak Dobriyal, Jimmy Shergill, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Dhanush.

Madhavan said he also like to opt for scripts which are ahead of the young generation in terms of intelligence.

"The approach is that intelligence of the stories should be more intelligent than the younger generation which already knows a lot about everything," he said.
