Fawad caught off-guard by Alia on 'Kapoor & Sons' sets

  • Fawad caught off-guard by Alia on 'Kapoor & Sons' sets
Actor Fawad Khan says that he didn't expect his "Kapoor & Sons" co-star Alia Bhatt to be as confident and spontaneous as she came across on the first day shoot of the film.

"When I saw her on the first day on the sets, she was so confident and spontaneous, which I was not expecting at all. She didn't even rehearse," said the 'Zindagi Gulzar Hai' actor about Alia at the unveiling of their Filmfare magazine cover. Alia however said Fawad was exaggerating, and also added that he didn't like her over-competitive spirit when they played games together.

Fawad said he has watched only one film of Alia till now but was impressed by it. "I've seen 'Highway'. She has given a tremendous performance in the film. As an actor I think her work speaks for herself. She is a phenomenal performer. To excel at such a young age so fast and be able to stand toe to toe with experienced actors, is quite an achievement."

The two share a romantic bond in the film, even sharing a kiss, as seen in the trailer.

Sidharth Malhotra plays Fawad's brother, who also shows interest in Alia, but is seen having differences with Fawad. He will also be sharing screen space with the likes of Rishi Kapoor, Ratna Pathak Shah, Rajat Kapoor in the Shakun Batra directorial.

The 34-year-old-actor had made his Hindi film debut opposite Sonam Kapoor in "Khoobsurat".
