Here's Why Zaira Wasim Was Shocked After Seeing Aamir Khan As 'Shakti Kumar'

IANS, 11 Aug, 2017 12:07 PM
Aamir Khan and Zaira Wasim won numerous hearts with their power packed performance as father and daughter in 'Dangal'.

2016's biggest blockbuster 'Dangal' brought to the audience an inspirational story of a father and daughter as the film traced the motivational journey of Mahavir Phogat (played by Aamir Khan) and his daughters.

'Dangal' went on to break records with its box office collection. The debutante actress Zaira Wasim, who essayed the role of young Geeta Phogat, even won first award of her life, being none other than the National Award for the Best Actress in a Supporting Role.

The duo Aamir and Zaira are coming back together to present another soul-stirring story with 'Secret Superstar'.

However filming for the same was difficult. While in 'Dangal' Aamir portrayed the role of Zaira's father, 'Secret Superstar' will see him playing the role of a flamboyant music composer.

Talking about the experience of working with Aamir for the second time, Zaira said, "I had a wonderful experience. I had lots of fun shooting this film. Most importantly for me in Dangal he was a father figure and when we started shooting for 'Secret Superstar' when we had his trials, I hadn't met him for a long time. When I saw him after Dangal as Shakti Kumar I was actually shocked. I had a lot of trouble during the shoot as I would burst out laughing reacting to his shots. But I had a ball of time over all."

'Secret Superstar' is a story of a young girl who aspires to be a singer. Her dreams, however, face the wrath of her father's opposition. The film showcases the journey of a teenager, who rose to fame anonymously by posting videos on the internet.

'Secret Superstar' is Aamir Khan Productions' eighth film after delivering blockbuster films like 'Lagaan', 'Taare Zameen Par' and ' Dangal' to name a few.

Produced by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao under the banner name of Aamir Khan Productions, Zee Studios, and Akash Chawla, ' Secret Superstar' is written and directed by Advait Chandan. The film is slated to release this Diwali.
