The "Bang Bang!" heartthrob, who is of part-Bengali heritage, performed at the Indian Premier League (IPL-8) opening ceremony at the Salt Lake stadium in Kolkata on Tuesday.

Hrithik's grandmother Ira -- his father Rakesh Roshan's mother -- was a Bengali who married Punjabi musician Roshan.

In his stunning second live act in the city after 15 years, Hrithik cast a spell on his fans and sealed his connect with West Bengal.

Hrithik was overcome with nostalgia during the event.

The star son's maiden live act after his stellar debut in father Rakesh's "Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai", was at the same venue. He fondly recalled the first live performance of his career as the audience cheered and whistled.

The actor met Banerjee on Tuesday and promised to attend the 21st edition of the Kolkata International Film Festival to be held later this year. She also requested the actor to shoot in Kolkata, which the actor gladly agreed to.

To show his respect and love for the city, Hrithik sported a stole during his act, which was gifted by the chief minister.
