I Am Not Leaving Yrf Banner: Maneesh Sharma

Darpan News Desk IANS, 06 Apr, 2015 01:32 PM
  • I Am Not Leaving Yrf Banner: Maneesh Sharma
Filmmaker Maneesh Sharma, who stepped into Bollywood as a director with the film "Band Baaja Baaraat" under the Yash Raj Films (YRF) banner, says he is extremely happy working with the production house and has no reason to leave it.

Asked if he would like to make films outside the YRF banner, he told IANS: "Right now I don't see myself directing outside the YRF banner. I can only talk about my next film 'Fan'. I have started my career here and I don't have any reason leave the YRF banner."

He last produced "Dum Laga Ke Haisha" for YRF.

"Aditya is looking into getting some creative producers for his production house as a studio model and is keen to take a step back and focus on his directorials, for which he might not give as much time as he was giving before.

"He said to me, 'If you are keen, you should go ahead and produce the film'. I did not have any ambitions to produce a movie at that point of time, but it happened suddenly," he added.

"Dum Laga Ke Haisha", featuring Ayushmann Khurana and newcomer Bhumi Pednekar, garnered plaudits for telling a simple tale in a touching way.
