I have the potential to become a very good actor: Shalmali

Darpan News Desk IANS, 02 Apr, 2016 12:40 PM
Singer Shalmali Kholgade, who began her Bollywood playback singing career with the song "Pareshaan" for the film "Ishaqzaade" in 2012, says she has the potential to become a "good actor" and if given a chance, she would love to essay a "very challenging role".

"I would love to act, but would love to do a very challenging role for which I have a very long time to work on and build that character, because I think I have the potential to become a very good actor," Kholgade told IANS.

The "Balam pichkari" hitmaker says she may not be a glamour diva, which is a major requirement for the silver screen, but she says if given a chance with a challenging role, she can prove herself.

"I may not look very fancy or very attractive on screen, which is what the requirement is for someone to be on the big screen, but if presented with a very challenging role, I think I have the potential to do a good job," she said, while adding that she still loves singing more than acting.
