If It's True, They Must Be Punished: Sonam Kapoor Reacts To The Vikas Bahl Controversy

Darpan News Desk IANS, 07 Oct, 2018 11:54 PM

The news of Phantom films (Vikramaditya Motwane, Anurag Kashyap, Vikas Bahl and Madhu Mantena) sudden dissolution came as a surprise or shock to many. The dissolution also saw the revisitation of allegations of sexual against director Vikas Bahl.

In a feature with Huffington Post young women who was a former employee of Phantom films exposed the sexual misconduct of the director which took place in Goa.

Recently Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane have issued a statement apologizing to the woman. Sonam Ahuja who was last seen in the film Veere Di Wedding at an event Bengaluru recently reacted to the allegations.

Sonam said, “The whole thing that has happened at Phantom, I find it disgusting. If you read that article, it’s disgusting, it’s gut-wrenching. And I know these people, I know all of them.” When asked how she will deal with it, Sonam said, “I don’t know how I will deal with it. All I know is that I believe this woman. I find the behaviour despicable and cowardly.”

She also stated that it might help to stand by the victims and offer them support when asked if Bollywood celebs would stand up against Vikas Sonam said, “Kangana did. Kangana being Kangana Ranaut, she says a lot of stuff. Sometimes, it’s hard to take her seriously, but I love the fact that she has spunk and she says what she believes in.”

This comes after Tanushree's allegations against Nana Patekar. Many other personalities have also been accused. It for sure looks like that the MeeToo movement is finally arriving in India and victims are not afraid to talk any more about their experiences.
