I'll Do Anything For Animals: Athiya Shetty

Darpan News Desk IANS, 20 Dec, 2016 11:11 AM
  • I'll Do Anything For Animals: Athiya Shetty
Actress Athiya Shetty says she can do anything for animals.

"I often visit animal shelters, and animal adoption fairs to spread awareness because I love animals. So, these are the two things (animal welfare and education) that are really close to my heart. I will do anything for animals," Athiya told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

Athiya made her Bollywood debut with the 2015 film "Hero", which was co-produced by superstar Salman Khan. She will soon be seen in "Mubarakan", which will also star Arjun Kapoor and Anil Kapoor.

The daughter of Suniel Shetty says she wants to spread awareness about education also.

"Education is a right that every child has -- be it a boy or a girl. I cherish my education because it has taught me so much about my life. It has given me my own take on things," she said.

The actress credits her education for instilling confidence in her to face the world, and express her views without hesitation.

"How to believe in myself, the confidence I have today in myself is because of education that I have got," said the 24-year-old, adding that "it is extremely important for a child to be educated".

Athiya feels education "teaches you so much about life", and asserts that it is "important for celebrities (to get connected to such issues) because we have the reach to create awareness about it".
