Kamal Haasan's Condolence Message For Jayalalithaa Upsets Supporters

Darpan News Desk, 06 Dec, 2016 11:41 AM
  • Kamal Haasan's Condolence Message For Jayalalithaa Upsets Supporters
Several top political leaders cutting across party lines and celebrities from different walks of life have eulogised Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa

Kamal, who rather took his time to express his grief, posted a curt message on his Twitter page. “Deepest sympathies to everyone depend on Jayalalithaa.” This tweet has irked many, especially Jayalalithaa supporters, who have accused him of showing no respect to a departed soul.

According to TV reports, Kamal has said that since he is in the US where he is shooting for his upcoming film, he was unable to pay his last respects in person to the late AIADMK chief.

It is worth noting that a few years ago, Kamal and Jayalalithaa got into a major row during the release of the actor’s Vishwaroopam. The Tamil Nadu government had banned the release after a few Muslim organisations accused the film of portraying their community in a bad light.

At the time, Kamal had made an emotional speech saying he will leave Tamil Nadu in search of a more secular state in the country. And he will quit India, should he fail to find such a secular state.
