Kangana Ranaut Will Not Apologise, Tweets Sister Rangoli Chandel After Row With Journalist

  • Kangana Ranaut Will Not Apologise, Tweets Sister Rangoli Chandel After Row With Journalist

Kangana Ranaut on Thursday refused to apologise for accusing a journalist of running a "smear campaign" against her.

In a two-part video message posted on her sister Rangoli Chandel's Twitter, Kangana called media “bikau, deshdrohi, sasti, not even 10th-fail”. Kangana, who wore while salwar-suit spoke very calmly, but firmly. In her tweets, she made it clear that she will not apologise and alleged that the media has been “ganging up” against her. She also said that the same media was “on sale for Rs 60.'

She, however, lauded a few journalists saying that they helped her grow in making a career in Bollywood, but not “these”.

She said she wanted the media to ban her, as it was not them who made her, but her hard work.

She said she was among the few actresses in mainstream Bollywood who have made brave film choices, and never felt scared while choosing roles.

"I do not get scared as such but definitely as an actor, I always make sure that I will not hurt anyone's sentiment. I made a film called "Manikarnika" and during the release of that film, there wasn't any controversies. No one took objection against that film because I am very considerate of everybody and their feelings," she said.

The actress got into a heated argument with a wire service journalist at an event on July 7.

The incident happened while Kangana was interacting with the media at the launch of the song, "Wakhra swag", from her forthcoming film "JudgeMentall Hai Kya".

Co-star Rajkummar Rao, producer Ekta Kapoor, writer Kanika Dhillon, choreographer Bosco Martis and director Prakash Kovelamudi were also present at the event.

It started when Kangana questioned the journalist over his negative comments on her last release, "Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi".

An ugly exchange followed, and things only got worse with others getting involved.

Ekta Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao were seen trying to intervene in order to control the situation.

SONA MOHAPATRA CRITICISES KANGANA RANAUT, RANGOLI CHANDEL, SAYS ACTOR HAS BECOME ‘THE MONSTER SHE FOUGHT’

Sona Mohapatra took to Twitter to react to the latest controversy that had Kangana being banned by the Entertainment Journalists’ Guild of India for fighting with a reporter at an event.

“When women fight an oppressive power structure, overcome obstacles & succeed,it’s a worthy celebration like nothing else! When they, thereafter BECOME the monsters they fought after finding power & learn the worst from the bullies,it’s such a tragedy. #KanganaRanaut hope u recover.”

She added, “fighting for a more equal & fair world is not about women becoming more like men or vice versa. Hopefully more women climbing the professional ladder or occupying positions of power in numbers at par with their male counterparts will only infuse the biotope with kinder energies.”

Sona also reacted to Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel who came out in support of Kabir Singh director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Rangoli hailed Sandeep on Twitter saying, “This is how we need to demolish fake feminazi and movie mafia’s selective outrage, discrimination and outsiders bullying.”

Calling out Rangoli for supporting Sandeep, Sona tweeted, “Fake Feminazi = fake being opposite of genuine,Nazi being a cuss word.. means someone like you, whose not a feminist ? You need to demolish all such non ‘feminists’, you mean? Like yourself? ( P.S You are sounding deranged. Do yourself a favour, take a break, find your bearings).”
