  • Karenjit Kaur 2 Trailer: Sunny Leone’s Brave Attempt To Show The Woman Behind The Adult Star

Sunny Leone on Monday shared the first trailer for the second season of Karenjit Kaur: The Untold Story of Sunny Leone, a web series based on her life. The show is produced by Zee 5 and aired its first season in July.

The trailer show’s Sunny’s beginnings as an adult star and her troubled relationship with her parents. Her mother is shown to be an alcoholic, who gets into a car crash. Her father is an adulterer, who is confronted by Sunny in an emotional scene.

There is also a quick glimpse at Sunny’s mother berating her for her line of work. “What happened in your life that made you want to parade naked in front of the world,” Sunny’s mother asks.

We then see her evolution from a porn star to a producer, and her wedding to her husband Daniel Weber. The biggest point the trailer makes is to emphasise Sunny’s business acumen. She did what she had to and did it better than anyone else - a trait she inherited from her mother.

In real life, Sunny transitioned into Bollywood after an eye-catching stint on Bigg Boss. Producer Mahesh Bhatt was so taken by her that he signed her on the reality show itself. Sunny has since gone on to star in several films, and has amassed a huge following in India.

At the end of the trailer, we can hear her father say that it doesn’t matter to him how the world sees her, to him she will always be his ‘Gogo’ - the name her parents affectionately call her by.

The second season of Karenjit Kaur: The Untold Story of Sunny Leone will begin airing from September 28. The show is said to have been created after Sunny had disagreements with Dilip Mehta, director of the documentary Mostly Sunny, over the authenticity of his film, and felt compelled to tell her own story.
