  • KJo clarifies why Akshay Kumar's 'Brothers' got preponed
Actor Akshay Kumar starrer "Brothers" which was intially set to release on Gandhi Jayanti next year has now been preponed to July 31. Karan Johar, who is co-producing the film, says the energy of the shoot has been incredible and that's why they took this step.

"The energy of the shoot has been incredible, so we have actually decided to prepone our release to July 31," Karan said in a statement.

"Brothers" directed by Karan Malhotra, also features Sidharth Malhotra, Jacqueline Fernandez and Jackie Shroff.

The film is likely to be completed way before the originally scheduled release date. However, when Karan zeroed on July 31, he realised that Akshay had already decided to release his home production that is said to be "Singh Is Bling" on that day.

Karan then had a word with Akshay and Ashvini Yardi of Grazing Goat Pictures, a production house co-founded with the actor and Twinkle Khanna, and they offered their July date to Filmmaker.

"Akshay and Ashvini have graciously given us that date and we have given them our previous date," added Karan.

Earlier Yardi revealed the development on Twitter.

"The Big Switch #singhisbling now releases on 2nd Oct 2015 n #brothers on 31st july 2015 @akshaykumar @karanjohar @GrazingGoatPix," he tweeted.
