Kunal Kapoor Excited About 'Angry, Anti-Hero' Role

  • Kunal Kapoor Excited About 'Angry, Anti-Hero' Role
Actor Kunal Kapoor is excited to essay the role of superhero Doga, who is "dark, angry and an anti-hero", in a TV series.

Unlike other superheroes, Doga, created in 1992 by Raj comics, has no super powers and solely relies on his combat skills, especially in martial arts and boxing, and his remarkable physical strength.

Talking about the show on the anti-hero vigilante, Kunal said in a statement: "Doga is by far the most ambitious project I have been part of. I have dreamt of playing this character for a long time, and I'm very happy that's it taking shape now. Doga is a superhero, the kind of which has never been seen. He is dark, angry and an anti-hero."

"It's going to be extremely challenging. Doga is the ultimate bad*** and is built like a beast. Besides that, there will have to be a lot of different martial arts that I'll have to learn. It's a huge responsibility, but I'm ready for it."

Commenting more on it, Manish Gupta from Raj Comics said: "Doga is a very ambitious project for us and we are recruiting some of the best minds and creative talent to bring this on screen."

Will there be a movie as well?

Kunal said: "There definitely will be, but right now the series is our focuses. The project is slated to start later this year. The technical team will be finalized soon."

As for films, he has Tigmanshu Dhulia's war drama "Raag Desh - Birth of a Nation" and Reema Kagti's "Gold" in his kitty.
