  • Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput's common law partner taken into custody by the Narcotics Bureau

It is a groundbreaking revelation in the ongoing Sushant Singh Rajput death saga, the late actor's common law partner Rhea Chakraborty, was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Tuesday afternoon in Mumbai. The court remanded her for 2 weeks of judicial custody and rejected her application for bail. Chakraborty can now move the high court. The arrest comes after three constant days of questioning by the NCB which is investigating a drug link in the murder of the 34-year-old actor.

According to media reports, during her interrogation Chakraborty, who was in a relationship with Rajput at the time of his death, apparently revealed details about organising drugs for the actor and also using them at times. On Tuesday, Chakraborty was grilled with questions for about five hours before the NCB finally took her into custody. She also was taken for a medical test at a Mumbai Hospital.

One of Rajput's sisters, Shweta Singh Kirti, who has been active on social media since her brother passed away posted a tweet after the news of Chakraborty's arrest broke.

Satish Maneshinde, Chakraborty's lawyer via a statement called her arrest a 'travesty' of justice. "Three Central Agencies hounding a single woman, just because she was in love with a drug addict and was suffering from mental health issues for several years under the care of 5 leading psychiatrists in Mumbai , who ended up committing suicide due to consumption of illegally administered medicines and used drugs"

Rajput's 'Pavitra Rishta' co-star and ex fiancee Ankita Lokhande, who has been sharing posts as more details have come forward in the actors mysterious death took to Twitter and posted  "Nothing happens by chance, by fate. You create your own fate by your actions" That's Karma.'. She titled the post Justice.

The NCB has gotten hold of phone chat records and other electronic data that suggested some banned drugs were allegedly obtained.
