  • 'Masterchef India 4' Promises Innovative Veggie Delights
Popular cooking-based reality show "MasterChef India" is heading back to television with its fourth season to serve a visual delight of vegetarian dishes cooked under the guidance of its judges and chefs Sanjeev Kapoor, Vikas Khanna and new entrant to the panel chef Ranveer Brar.

In its new season, the Indian adaptation of the internationally popular format will witness chefs and food enthusiasts from various Indian states using their creativity and cooking skills for fancy gourmet dishes, exotic desserts and rich Indian food served in style.

With its unique vegetarian format, the show will help the viewers to broaden their mindset over various vegetarian dishes and will help them to think about new recipes apart from the regulars 'Dal Makhani' and 'Shahi Paneer'.

"In every season we come out with a unique format. This time the contestants will cook only vegetarian food. Apart from being popular, the vegetarian concept will make the competition level tougher for all the contestants," the popular chef Kapoor said here.

During the launch here Friday evening, one got a glimpse of the traditional Indian dishes made by some of the contestants under the guidance of the three judges. A special treat was organised for mediapersons, who were asked to taste the dishes and give their feedback.

Talking about his judging parameters, chef Brar said: "More than looking at the ambience of the food, I'll be focusing on its taste. If a dish is not tasty, I don't think people will try it. Ambience adds credibility to food. But its taste remains crucial for me."

With succesful previous seasons, the show aims at continuing to promote amateur talents from India and provide them a platform from where they can start a career in the field.

Chef Khanna said: "Our previous seasons winners are building on a great career in various food-related fields. Some of them have opened their own restaurants, some are writing books on Indian food. Also they are working as chefs in five star hotels.

"Just like any other reality show winners, 'MasterChef' contestants have worked immensely hard to do what they wished to. No longer do people call cooking a women's activity. Men are also getting attracted to it."

The show will be aired from Jan 26 on Star Plus.
