'Mere Dad Ki Maruti' Sequel To Go On Floors This Year

  • 'Mere Dad Ki Maruti' Sequel To Go On Floors This Year
The sequel to "Mere Dad Ki Maruti" is likely to go on floors this year itself, says the film's lead actor Saqib Saleem.

"I have completed three years of 'Mere Dad Ki Maruti' and I was speaking to my producer. He was like, 'Let's make a sequel this year... So that should happen this year'. Hopefully, we will start shooting this year."

Directed by Ashima Chibber, "Mere Dad Ki Maruti" featured Saqib with Rhea Chakraborty and Ram Kapoor.

Asked if it will be a continuation of the original film or a fresh script, Saqib said: "There will be an element of surprise. I can't talk much about it. We are very positive about it because we have an interesting idea.

"We don't want to make the sequel just like that... We want to make it better and have more fun."

Saqib has, meanwhile, featured in a short film titled "Koi Dekh Lega" under Y-Films' YouTube venture "Love Shots".
