Megastar Amitabh Bachchan seems to have lost faith in the saying - 'Life goes on' - after the Nepal tragedy. He says he can't get his heart to agree with it, adding that all steps must be taken to get the nation back on its feet.

“Yes...they say life goes on much like 'the show must go on'...but somewhere the heart does not agree...please Lord be merciful!

“Soon when all is rested and settled, we must do whatever we can in helping our brothers and sisters who have suffered,” the 72-year-old wrote on Twitter.

The Himalayan nation was devastated when a 7.9 magnitude earthquake hit the region on Saturday and left over 4300 dead and thousands more injured.

The cine icon, who had shot the song "Pyaar mein dil pe" with Zeenat Aman at the Durbar Square in Nepal, is baffled by nature's fury but also appreciates all the efforts being made to overcome this tragedy.

“The devastating visuals that one sees is so frightening...nature's fury is unmatched, but so is human effort and prayer,” he shared.
