My Father Wanted Me To Learn Music, Says Meiyang Chang

  • My Father Wanted Me To Learn Music, Says Meiyang Chang
Singer Meiyang Chang, a dentist by training who will be seen hosting a new series on Discovery Channel titled "India's Best Jobs", says his father always wanted him to learn music.

"It was my father's college dream to learn music, he wanted to do it as a hobby but when he realised that I want to get into this world, he gave me my space and let me try what I wanted," Chang told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

Talking about his new venture, Chang said: " 'India's best jobs' leaves you with the immense sense of satisfaction. Many times when we start something, we don't know about the options, and this show intends to change the mindset of people."

The show will feature 13 ordinary individuals who followed their inner calling and turned their passion into profession.

Asked if he also left dentistry to follow his dream, Chang said: "It was a parallel dream. Apart from dentistry, I wanted to sing as well but with time, I realised that as far as my personal horizons are concerned, I cannot pursue dentistry further."

"However, it would have been great if I would have been doing both together."

Do you consider yourself in the best job now?

"I love this job. If I would be doing dentistry, I won't be that happy and content."

"India's Best Jobs" will premiere on July 1 and will be aired every Saturday.
