My heart craves for classical dance forms: Shakti Mohan

Darpan News Desk IANS, 01 Jul, 2016 02:31 PM
  • My heart craves for classical dance forms: Shakti Mohan
Popular contemporary dancer Shakti Mohan says she craves more for classical dance forms as they have been the “stepping stone of every dancer’s life”.

While the upcoming second season of dance reality show “Dance +” promises to bring into limelight more of international dance styles, Shakti, who will be seen as a mentor on the show alongside Dharmesh Yelande and Punit Pathak, says she will try to promote more of Indian dance forms on it.

“This season of 'Dance +' has an exceptional talent on board showcasing some never seen before dance styles on the stage. Though I believe in breaking stereotypes and trying out different styles but my heart craves for classical dance forms.

“Kathak and Bharatnatyam are my forte. Classical dancing has always been the stepping stone of every dancer’s life. Now that I’ve reached on this level, I still wish to dance like it’s the end of the world,” Shakti said in a statement.

The second season of “Dance +”, which will feature ace choreographer-filmmaker Remo D’Souza as super judge, will be aired on Star Plus starting from Saturday.
