Navjot Singh Sidhu Went Missing From Kapil Sharma Show After Cracking 'Vulgar Joke'

  • Navjot Singh Sidhu Went Missing From Kapil Sharma Show After Cracking 'Vulgar Joke'
All hell seems to have broken loose for The Kapil Sharma Show, according to reports. First, it was the alleged mid-air falling out between comedians Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover and now 'permanent guest' Navjot Singh Sidhu appears to be in trouble.

Mr Sidhu reportedly missed the shoot of an episode after a complaint was allegedly filed against him for cracking an indecent joke on the show.

An advocate filed a complaint with Punjab chief secretary Karan A Singh, objecting to a double entendre that Navjot Singh Sidhu allegedly used. The cricketer-turned-politician reportedly missed an episode that featured actress Sonakshi Sinha after the complaint was filed.

While talking to media, Hari Chand Arora , advocate, Punjab and Haryana High Court said “I viewed “Kapil Sharma Show” on April 8, 2017 from 9.00 PM to around 10.15 PM.

The “comedy” of Kapil Sharma, and particularly that of Navjot Singh Sidhu, was replete with vulgar, double-meaning and obscene dialogues. It violated various provisions of Indian Penal Code, 1860, as well as those of Information and Technology Act. Their dialogues offended my conscience while viewing the show along with my wife and daughters” .

While recollecting the so called vulgar statements in the show, he said he remember saying Sidhu “ Kapil, tum shaadi karwa lo- 40 saal ki aayu ke baad bande ke cell khatam ho jaye hain (Kapil, you please get married, otherwise after crossing age of 40 years, you shall lose your reproductive capacity)."

Elaborating his message further, he said Sidhu explained saying “Ek baar ek buzurg look liye washroom gaya, wapas lauta toh us ne pant ke button band nahin kiye huye the, Jab usey is ka kaaran poocha toh wo bola, jis sandook mein khazaana na ho, us ko taala lagane ka koi fayda nahin (what Sidhu wanted to bring home to the audience is that an an old man need not button up his pants, as he being virtually impotent, cannot harm any woman)."

He said it was duty of Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh to rein in his colleague.

“I am also going to produce recording to the Sidhu’s utterings in Kapil Sharma’s show before court in next hearing on May 11” he said.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court is also hearing a petition if Sidhu should continue to make his weekly appearance on a comedy show on television despite being a minister. Kapil, who is also reeling from the absence of Sunil Grover, Ali Asgar, Chandan Prabhakar and Sugandha Mishra, would feel Sidhu’s absence if he chooses to leave also.

However, Sidhu had earlier said, “I have maintained the same stand.

I have always done what is permissible for politicians under our Constitution and will not do anything that is derogatory to the Constitution.”
