Negligible Content Available For Children: Aamir Khan

Darpan News Desk IANS, 26 Mar, 2015 01:39 PM
  • Negligible Content Available For Children: Aamir Khan
Actor-filmmaker Aamir Khan, who directed the sensitive "Taare Zameen Par", rues that negligible content is being served to the children in films and television. He feels this unavailability of content has forced youngsters to watch what's not meant for them.

The actor was speaking at the Ficci Frames 2015 conclave, when he opened up about his fears over entertaining content for children.

The 50-year-old said: If you look at our children's content, it's almost negligible, and the little that I see is very scary. It scares me to see the kind of children's content they (people) are making.

"About 80 percent of the kids are not actually watching the content specially made for them, they are watching content which their parents are watching," he added.

He feels the entertainment industry can contribute to the nation's growth by serving healthy and pure content to children.

"We as an industry have a huge opportunity in front of us. We can bring grace to society. We can build the social fabric of India," said the actor, whose "Taare Zameen Par" was based on a dyslexic child.

"We can contribute to nation building in a very dynamic way in what we choose to tell our children in our stories, in our characters," he added.
