Not Here To Preach Anything: Paresh Rawal

Darpan News Desk IANS, 30 Mar, 2015 12:30 PM
  • Not Here To Preach Anything: Paresh Rawal
After starring in a film like "OMG: Oh My God!', which touched upon people's blind faith in god and godmen, Paresh Rawal will now be seen in "Dharam Sankat Mein" as a man in an identity crisis due to his religion. But he says he does not pick such movies to preach anything to anyone.

Asked how such films will make a difference to the society, he said: "I am not here to preach anything. We just want to make good films. The plot of this film is different and I want to do more films which will have different layers in it."

The veteran actor also said the intent is not to "hurt anybody's religious sentiments".

"I want to make a point, but within the boundary," he added.

"Dharam Sankat Mein" revolves around a Hindu man Dharampal (Paresh), who goes through an identity crisis when he discovers he was adopted as a child and born to a Muslim family.

Directed by Fuwad Khan, the film also features Naseeruddin Shah and Annu Kapoor and is slated for release on April 10.

While films based on religious issues have always caught in controversies, Paresh says the audience of today still enjoys their content.

"Certain section of media is interested in contrversies. We can't fight with anyone... we can only make a good film. 'OMG' also worked. Who is the one who watched that film? Aren't they the audience? I think audience is ready for the change," he said.
