Sanjay Leela Bhansali is currently busy shooting his magnum opus - Padmavati - starring Deepika Padukone. The film also stars Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.
If the latest buzz is anything to go by, Ranveer and Shahid were not the first choices for the characters of Alauddin Khilji and Rawal Ratan Singh.
According to a report DNA originally attributed to a leading film critic, SLB chose to have Deepika on board even after superstars refused to be a part of it.
`Bhansali stuck with his leading lady even after top male stars offered to star in it if the director was willing to change the title to sound less like it revolved around the heroine. Deepika is returning the favour by standing firmly by Bhansali's side, focusing solely on Padmavati, even as her co-actors Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor are dividing their time between Bhansali's set and ad-films, appearances, and the like,` DNA quoted Masand as saying.
Slated to release on November 17, 'Padmavati' is one of the most awaited films of the year.
Actress Deepika Padukone had broken down on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's directorial "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela" due to last-minute changes in the dialogues, says Garima Wahal, who co-wrote the 2013 film with Siddharth Singh.
Irrfan Khan, who is gearing up for his next release "Hindi Medium", took out time from his schedule to spend with cancer-afflicted children and the actor says that he was amazed at their "strong determination and zeal."
Actor Prabhas, who has been appreciated for his lead role in "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion" -- which has opened to massive collections -- has thanked his family, friends and fans for their constant support in his journey.
Filmmaker Karan Johar, who has presented the Hindi dubbed version of "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion", says the Rs 40.25 crore collection that the movie made on the first day after its opening weekend, is a "revolution".
The industry has evolved a lot for the good. I mean technically, it is good. Every actor is doing one film at a time... In our times, we were doing four or five films at the same time. That has changed
