'Peepli Live' Co-director Mahmood Farooqui Seeks Bail In Rape Case

    Co-director of Bollywood movie "Peepli Live" Mahmood Farooqui, an accused in a rape case, on Thursday moved for bail in a Delhi court.
     
    Additional Sessions Judge Sanjiv Jain set August 25 as the date for hearing the bail application.
     
    Last month, Delhi Police charge sheeted Farooqui under sections dealing with rape and destruction of evidence for allegedly raping a 35-year-old American national.
     
    The victim, who is pursuing Ph.D. from Columbia University, was in India for research work.
     
    Farooqui is in judicial custody since June 20.
