Public Scrutiny Took Varun Dhawan By Surprise

Darpan News Desk IANS, 12 Mar, 2016 02:44 PM
  • Public Scrutiny Took Varun Dhawan By Surprise
Constant public gaze is a part and parcel of showbiz, and actor Varun Dhawan admits that the scrutiny took him by surprise, adding that he is still learning to deal with it.

Varun, who is the son of filmmaker David Dhawan, entered Bollywood with multi-starrer “Student of the Year” along with Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra.

When asked about the public scrutiny, Varun told IANS: “It did take me by surprise. I wasn’t ready for this type of scrutiny but I am learning to deal with it”.

After his film “Dilwale”, which featured Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, failed to elicit the expected response, there were rumours about a falling out with director Rohit Shetty.

He then took to Twitter to set the record straight with a post that read: “Rohit Shetty has always been one of my favourite director... I had such a good time doing 'Dilwale' with Rohit sir and sincerely hope I get a chance to work with again.”

On the professional front, the actor has a lot to look forward to. He has wrapped up "Dishoom", will be a part of Karan Johar's production “Shuddhi” and also “Judwaa 2”, which is the remake of Salman Khan's 1997 film “Judwaa”.

The “Badlapur” star shares being a part of “Judwaa 2” comes with a big responsibility.

“'Judwaa' is still in the scripting stage so there is lot of work that I will have to put in and it is a big responsibility but I will try and work towards it so I don’t let anyone down,” he said.

The actor, who launched a new backpack collection of Skybags here recently, is oft called a youth icon.

And he feels that it is “very difficult to impact the opinion of the youth today with the digital world there is no absolute right or absolute wrong so I mean I am trying to with things I believe in”.
