Reality Shows Boon For Many Aspiring Dancers: Remo D'Souza

Darpan News Desk IANS, 11 May, 2016 12:33 PM
National Award winning choreographer Remo D'Souza, who is gearing up for the second season of “Dance +”, says reality TV shows are a “boon to most of the aspiring dancers” and gives them exposure to showcase their talent.

“Reality shows have been a boon to most of the aspiring dancers and choreographers, as it goes without saying that, firstly it gives them exposure to showcase their talent. Then if you are good you get noticed and appreciated and work starts flowing in, Remo told IANS.

“Some of the older generation dancers and choreographers although they were good did not get exposure and they couldn’t make it,” he added.

Remo, who won the Best Choreography award for the song “Deewani Mastani" from the film “Bajirao Mastani”, at the 63rd National Film Awards earlier this year, has been choreographing songs for Bollywood films for over two decades now.

After selecting contestants from cities like Guwahati, Siliguri, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Dehradun and Jaipur, the auditions for “Dance + Season 2” will next take place in Chandigarh (Thursday), Lucknow (Thursday), Delhi (Saturday), Indore (May 17), Ahmedabad (May 19), Vadodara (May 21), Bengaluru (May 24), Pune (May 26) and Mumbai (May 28).

Hosted by Raghav Juyal, “Dance + Season 2” will feature Punit Pathak, Dharmesh Yelande and Shakti Mohan as mentors. Remo will be seen as Super Judge.

The show will start in July and will be aired on Star Plus.
