West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and veteran actor Rishi Kapoor have remembered Rajesh Khanna as the "original king of romance" and "immortal" on the late Bollywood superstar's 73rd birth anniversary on Tuesday.
 
Rishi Kapoor took to Twitter to remember the late actor, with whom he had worked in films like "Zamana", "Ghar Parivar", and "Vijay".
 
"Remembering on his birth anniversary, Kakaji (Rajesh Khanna) The original King of Romance! 29-12-42/18-7-12," Rishi Kapoor tweeted.
 
Banerjee called the late superstar, who was married to actress Dimple Kapadia, a "legendary actor". 
 
"Remembering the legendary actor Rajesh Khanna on his birth anniversary. He will always be immortal in our hearts," the West Bengal CM tweeted.
 
Rajesh Khanna, who was bestowed with India's third highest civilian honour Padma Bhushan, is known for his work in films like "Anand", "Kati Patang", "Bawarchi", "Avtaar" and "Haathi Mere Saathi". 
 
The actor, who was critically ill, died on July 18, 2012.
