Rishi Kapoor: R.K. Films' Memorabilia, Costumes Burnt In Fire: , Bollywood Celebs Heartbroken

Bollywood celebrities like Karan Johar, Farah Khan and Vikram Bhatt have expressed their sadness after a fire burnt down the iconic RK Films and Studios here on Saturday.

A major fire broke out in the studio in Chembur. It gutted one of the main shooting venues -- the set of dance reality TV show "Super Dancer Season 2".

The studio, founded by late actor-filmmaker Raj Kapoor in 1948, was the venue for movies like "Jis Desh Me Ganga Behti Hain" (1960), "Mera Naam Joker" (1970), "Bobby" (1973), "Satyam Shivam Sundaram" (1978), "Prem Rog" (1982) and "Ram Teri Ganga Maili" (1985), which was the founder's last film before his death in June 1988.

Here is what some of the celebrities tweeted:

Karan Johar: Heartbreaking and unfortunate incident at RK studios... The archival loss is truly sad for all RK lovers such as myself.

Farah Khan: Such sad news. Have shot so many songs there including 'Happy New Year'. Iconic studio.

Vikram Bhatt: The images of the iconic RK Studios in flames fills me with despair. Shot the climax of 'Raaz' there. It holds a special place in my heart..

Sophie Choudry: I'm heartbroken to hear this. Beautiful studio, what memorabilia. Shot there for my video 'Ek pardesi' and so many other things. RK Studios.

Rishi Kapoor was visibly offended by a cartoon which recently featured in a newspaper publication and zeroed in the recent fire incident at R K Studio in Mumbai as its subject.

The cartoon, which takes only a tiny portion of a comic strip, appears to feature Raj Kapoor and makes a direct reference to Aag, the first movie that came out of R K Studio - something which did not go down too well with Rishi Kapoor.

The 65-year-old actor is known for the outspoken persona he is and objected to the cartoon in strongly worded words: "This is bad. We take objection to this kind of depraved sick humour," he tweeted on Monday evening.
