Salman Rape Remark Controversy: Nawazuddin Says His Intentions Were Not Wrong

Darpan News Desk IANS, 23 Jun, 2016 01:42 PM
Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui says that his "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" co-star Salman Khan didn't have any wrong intentions behind his controversial "raped woman" comment.

When asked about it at a screening of his film "Raman Raghav 2.0", Nawazuddin said, "He (Salman) used the comment metaphorically. The discussions over it are over and there is no point in repeating it and asking questions about it."

Salman had in an interview said that he felt like a "raped woman" coming out of his fights with wrestlers for his film "Sultan".

He seemed to regret it later saying, "I don't think I should have" but then explained the fact that he was not able to walk.

Nawazuddin, though, inadvertently said that Salman has already "removed the tweet" and then added, "The intention has to be considered."

Actress Kangana Ranaut has termed Salman's comments as "horrible" and "extremely insensitive" and advised people to avoid trolling and running one person down.

Salman is yet to clarify but his father, writer Salim Khan, has apologised on Twitter on behalf of their whole family.
