Shah Rukh Khan A Pakistani Agent, Should Go There: Sadhvi Prachi

Darpan News Desk IANS, 03 Nov, 2015 12:04 PM
Controversial Hindutva leader Sadhvi Prachi today termed Shah Rukh Khan as a “Pakistani agent”, who should be sent to that country, a day after the Bollywood superstar added his voice to the protest against “extreme intolerance” in the country.

“Shah Rukh Khan is an agent of neighbouring country Pakistan as he reflects their (Pakistan’s) ideology. Such a man should go to Pakistan,” she said while talking to reporters in the court complex.
    " "

Not new to controversies, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader had earlier targeted actors Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan in March this year for “spreading a culture of violence” and advised youngsters not to idolise the Bollywood triumvirate.

Prachi, an accused in the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots, also attended a BJP protest against alleged irregularities in counting of votes for district panchayat polls even as a Muzaffarnagar court issued a fresh bailable warrant against her for not appearing before it.

Earlier, a bailable warrant was issued on October 23 against several accused in the Muzaffarnagar riots case including Union Minister Sanjeev Balyan, BJP MLA Suresh Rana and Sadhvi Prachi.

APARNA SEN CALLS FOR LEGAL ACTION

Filmmaker Aparna Sen on Tuesday lashed out against Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Sadhvi Prachi's "Pakistani agent" comments on superstar Shah Rukh Khan, calling for legal action against the leader.

"Can't believe Sadhvi's reaction to SRK on tv! They're ones who want to break the country apart! There should be legal action against her!," tweeted the National Award winner.

Prachi on Tuesday attacked SRK over his "extreme intolerance in India" comment and called him a "Pakistani agent".

A host of well-known writes, filmmakers, scientists and historians have announced the return of awards and honours as a mark of protest against recent events like the lynching of a Muslim man in Dadri of Uttar Pradesh over rumours that he had consumed beef, the murder of Kannada rationalist scholar M.M. Kalburgi, and the police "raid" in Delhi's Kerala House.

However, Sen advocated drafting a joint letter of protest to President Pranab Mukherjee instead of the "award wapasi".

"Emotion behind returning awards laudable. But they were not all awarded by the present Govt. Any sense in Ray returning..@...award for Pather Panchali that he rcvd in 1956, for instance? We shd send a joint letter of protest to the President instead.

"Let us all sign a joint letter to the President to protest against the curbing of freedom of speech. Who will draft the letter?," she posed.
