Actor Shahid Kapoor's mother Neelima Azeem says she always wanted a granddaughter and feels absolutely blessed as her first grandchild is a girl.
 
"This is the first baby. I am a new grandmother. This is a new phase and I can't explain how it feels like. I really wanted a granddaughter, so I am absolutely thrilled and I feel so blessed. I have two sons and now I have a granddaughter," Neelima told IANS.
 
 
Shahid and his wife Mira Rajput were blessed with a daughter on Friday evening. The actor even took to Twitter to share the news with his fans and friends.
 
Neelima said: "I thank everybody for their wishes and support. Both mother and daughter are doing fine and my granddaughter looks absolutely gorgeous. Their parents are so happy. It's the fourth generation."
